La Belle Epoque were a new business selling designer sex toys and products. They needed a brand developed that was exciting and fresh. The business would be supported by a powerful e-commerce website that would establish an online presence and generate product sales. An industry related blog would also be integrated into the website that utilised social networking channels to drive users to the website. Promotions and other online marketing elements would also be used to build the new brand.

Aunty Mabel’s Seat are a boutique furniture and interior design company who approached me to build an online presence to support and grow their business. With a popular and successful showroom already open, a new website was required to encourage enquiries and advertise and promote the high quality products available. The style and look and feel of the site were important as it needed to be unusual and arty yet reflect the high quality of products on sale.

To get the right look and feel, I put together a mood board with 5-6 variations of styles and themes. Wireframes were then used to map the layout and user journeys throughout the website pages. Usability are always key factors when designing product focused websites as there is often alot of important information to get across to the website user. Once the wireframe prototypes were finalised I created a unqiue and quirky design for the website that complimented the glamourous products.

Wai-Bin approached me because he was getting an increasing amount of enquiries through word of mouth about his fantastic photography work. The brief was simple, build a brand from scratch covering all the media requirements of a new business. I developed an identity that worked seamlessly across all assets including the website, business cards, letterheads and CD/DVD covers. Now when Wai-Bin has enquiries he can direct them to the website to view his photography work in the interactive galleries.

Paris, the capital of France and arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. For many, this city is a romantic getaway or a short break, however on a recent trip there I gained a lot more from the experience.

From modern art museums to religious architecture, Paris and its surroundings fuelled my imagination. In this day and age it’s important for designers to seek alternative sources of inspiration from the world around them. I hope the things I saw in Paris will add an edge to my future design work.

A professional, CMS driven website was required so that website site maintenance was available in house. After extensive competitor analysis I produced a design that was enquiry driven and worked within the companies brand guidelines.
